France has long been one of the world’s top tourist destinations and today more than 82 million people visit the country each year. Known for their culture, cuisine, and wine, as well as their overall way of life, the French welcome tourists from all over the world with open arms.

The city of Paris is one of the major draw cards of the country and its famous attraction, the Eiffel Tower, is arguably one of the most recognisable man-made structures in the world. The beautiful City of Light in the northern part of France is often visited by couples looking for a romantic getaway. While the Louvre Museum is one of the largest and most visited art museums in the world.

But there’s more to France than just the capital. The French Riviera on the south-east coast is a playground for the rich and famous that enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine every year. The Alps, on the border with Italy, offer some of the best snow skiing conditions in the world during winter, as well as excellent hiking conditions in the summer.

Visitors are also often drawn to the famous battlegrounds of Europe that are found in France, such as Normandy and the Somme. These sites, despite their grim history, are a favourite amongst many visitors.
